Arin Andrews is an American author and model. He is most known for his appearance on 20/20, where he and Katie Rain Hill were interviewed on their experiences as a transgender couple.[1]

Career

Andrews and then-girlfriend Hill first appeared on the 2013 20/20 episode "The Class Couple". The episode went viral, leading to more interviews with productions such as The Trisha Goddard Show[2] and Inside Edition, who dubbed them "America's First Transgender Couple".[3]

In 2014, Andrews was in the Barney's campaign Brothers, Sisters, Sons & Daughters, featuring in a short film "Katie + Arin", alongside Katie Rain Hill.[4] The campaign focused on transgender models, which also featured Gisele Alicea, Edie Charles, Valentijn de Hingh, Ashley de la Cruz, Sawyer Devuyst, Pêche Di, Dezjorn Gauthier, Trevon Haynes, Eve Lindley, Niki M’nray, Ryley Pogensky, Ines Rau, May Simon, Ahya Taylor, and Maxie Neu.[5] That same year, he published his memoir Some Assembly Required.[6][7]

He appeared in I am Cait in 2016, in the episode "Partner Up".[8]

Personal life

Andrews met Katie Rain Hill in a LGBT youth group, and later began dating. The couple split in 2014.[3]

He graduated from high school in 2014, allegedly being only the second openly transgender person to do so in Oklahoma, with the first allegedly being Hill herself.[9]

He received top surgery in June 2013.[10]

He is gay, coming out publicly in Glamourmagazine in 2015.[11]
